- Spatial
Analysis of the Ambulance Services in relation to Road Traffic Accidents
and populations numbers, a national survey -
Commissioned by the Pre-hospital Emergency Care Council. An ongoing
study that models the response catchments around ambulance stations
and assesses their capacity to return patients to acute hospitals
within specified targets.
- An
examination of the potential distribution and community demand for
Emergency First Responders in the Western Health Board - A research Report on behalf of the Pre-hospital
Emergency Care Council that assessed the spatial patterns of emergency
care requirements in the region against the provision of community
resources.
- Human
Impacts for Environmental Impacts Assessment of tourism development - Spatial Planning Solutions
researched and wrote the chapter on Socio-economic impacts of a large-scale
tourism proposal for Fota Island in Cork with emphasis on tourism
and local employment impacts.
- Review
of the Socio-Economic section of the EIS of the Bottlehill Residual
Landfill - This project involved
a critical review of the human impacts section of the EIS, and advice
to the management of the community group. Our findings were presented
at the oral hearing for the proposal.
- Retail
impact assessment of a number of retail developments in counties Cork
and Clare - These projects involved an assessment
of the retail spending patterns within local areas. Important criteria
are the profile of the local population and employment. Future trends
of retail demand are produced and the impact of new retail proposals
evaluated.
- Development Control – Submissions, observations and appeals (first and third party) on behalf of a variety of private sector clients, including negotiation and advice on unauthorised development.

Galway Settlement Strategy –
Galway County Council This
project was carried out by McCutcheon Hogan and A.P. McCarthy Associates
and involved a countywide assessment of housing demand against the
provision of physical and social infrastructure in the towns/ villages
and rural hinterlands. David Moore, as an employee at the time of
McCutcheon Hogan undertook the GIS analysis and demographic research
for this project and wrote the section on current settlement patterns.
- Eco
Enhance Project -
Lough Hyne Nature Reserve Pilot Project 1999-2000, on behalf of Cork
County Council.
The
objective of the Study was to develop a set of planning policy recommendations
that sought to enhance this environmentally sensitive coastal area
for the benefit of the local community and visitors to the area. David
Moore as an employee of McCutcheon Hogan produced the report.
- Kerry,
Galway & Galway City County Atlases & profiles - Produced
for the respective County Development Boards. David Moore was project
manager to these publications while director of the Eurogise Project
at NUI, Galway. The first of these atlases, the Kerry atlas formed
the template for a host of similar publications by County Development
Boards throughout the country.
